Delivery Day

Maot Chitim is concerned for the ongoing welfare, safety and health of our Community. We have been carefully monitoring the developments surrounding the global spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

Based on the current situation and the State of Illinois restrictions, we are going to be purchasing and delivering Jewel gift cards to our recipients. This will enable them to purchase food for Rosh Hashanah. The change for this holiday will allow us to serve our recipients safely, with less exposure for our volunteers and recipients.

As committed donors and volunteers, we understand you look forward to the packing and delivering food for others. We are sorry we are unable to provide that opportunity. Some of our recipients may require assistance shopping for their food. If you wish to volunteer to to do the grocery shopping, please contact us at [email protected]

We thank you for your dedication and ongoing support. It is greatly appreciated, and we could not do what we do without your generosity.

Packaging Food

Beginning approximately three weeks before the holiday we need volunteers to assemble boxes and to put non-perishable food items in the packages.

The week before Delivery, we need volunteers to help pack the Non-perishable food items. Shifts start at 9:15, 10:30, & 11:45.

All warehouse volunteers must:

  • 1. Meet the minimum age requirement of 12 years old.
  • 2. For safety reasons everyone must wear closed toe shoes.

Anyone and everyone, including singles and families with small children (no age restrictions), are invited to help out with the delivery of the packages.

For more information, call Maot Chitim of Greater Chicago at (847) 674-3224, or email us at [email protected]

If you have an organized large group of people and would like to volunteer to help please contact our group coordinator at volunteer®maotchitim.org

Food Delivery

On the day the packages are delivered, we need volunteers as early as 6:00 AM to help complete the packaging by putting perishable food items into the packages. We are also in need of anyone who:

  • Is available for Maot Chitim deliveries on Sunday morning of Delivery Day between 9:15am and 10:45am
  • Is not already part of a building crew or working in the warehouse

We need drivers with trucks to deliver to multiple addresses in the city and suburbs. Please contact our office by emailing [email protected] or by phoning us at 847-674-3224
